Happy Velo Day!!

Happy Velo Day to all the bike riders, bike mechanics, bike planners, and bike community out there!

WE LOVE YOU (AND YOUR BIKE)!!

Now usually at this time of year we would be waking up early tomorrow and heading to the Bourke St cycleway to spread the bike love message, but sadly this year we are busy busy.  Life has got in the way.  Soo we got in early and put a little cheer up already for all you lovely bicyclists tomorrow!

Now to see if you can find our little messages…

(Cross fingers - that most messages remain intact until this time)     XXXX

And if you aren't riding along Bourke tomorrow - never fear.. We took pics and will blog happily about them soon!

Happy Velo Day!

So, chances are if you are looking at our blog for the first time today it's because we harassed you on a street corner this morning.  Happy Valentine/Velo Day!  And congratulations on using Google so successfully!  We love bikes so as has become our tradition, Valentine's Day is when we share the love.

Friends, you were given a choice this morning... The bookmark or the chocolate?  If you chose bookmark read on below.  If you chose chocolate scroll down a bit further for your part.

Bookmark friends!  We need your help!

On the back of your bookmark you will see a pretty cool quote we found online regarding books and bicycles, but we could not find any additional information on Peter Golkin.  Why is this guy famous?  Why is his quote so popular yet no background information on who the BELL is Peter?  This is really bad, I mean what if we have quoted some awful historical figure or some bigoted politician?  We need your help... The first person to leave a comment that unveils the true identity of Peter Golkin wins a box of...

Yup, roses chocolates.  Because we will want to "Thank you very much for answering our question, thank you very much, very very very much" (sing it, you know the song).

Chocolate Friends!

As for our chocolate-choosing friends, some Valentine's eye candy to keep your sugar high going!
This is not a pic pinched off the web but literally the first bike-related picture I took in Paris, the city of love...

May you always have a lasting romance with the bicycle too!

Bike Love on Valentine's Day!

What do we love on Valentine's Day?  We love bikes, we love the people who ride them, we love cycleways and we love Clover Moore!  So what better way to show our love and appreciation than to stalk a busy Bourke St Cycleway intersection armed with flowers and lollipops...

A few people were a little afraid of such positive enthusiasm aimed their way, on an early Tuesday morning (this can be an uncommon occurence in car-heavy Sydney), but we got lots of smiles and waves soon enough!

It was great to interact with the bikelists that you normally just pass by and we did enjoy seeing bike traffic at the lights!

There was no alternative motive for us other than to share our enthusiasm for bicycles and to capture some of our community in action using the cycleway...

And while we were there, what better time to deliver one's own Valentine to their love... S-boy travels on Bourke st each day, so we waited and waited...

Then spotted...

And delivered.  Ahh romance and bikes!

And to top off a happy, love-filled morning who did we see?  Clover Moore - Who could love bikelists more?

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your bike!!

xx Bike Love xx

Boy, bike, out for a ride... meets girl, bike, out for a ride... And they live happily ever after? Or a least go on date? Well thats the dream..

Due to the unlikely nature of this happening in Sydney, ie; the lack of general bravery amongst the menfolk that dwell there. We have created the following activity to help you live out this dream.

Using photoshop simply copy the pictures below and insert your own picture and that of your crush and what do you have... Bike Love!

Bike Love is love with bicycles involved (not in a kinky way unless you are into that, which is fine but still not what I am talking about).

This blog is a tribute to the three gorgeous single girls hitting the Bicycle Film Festival on their bikes looking for a cute boy-with-bike snog! xxx
