Today's post is my bike-pic-homage to Arcade Fire, and their new album "The Suburbs" (can't wait!). What a crazy band with a crazy reputation. I am eagerly awaiting an Australian tour for the new album.
Have a nice weekend cool kids, I hope yours is as full of bike riding as mine is going to be...

Summer in Winter
A week and a bit ago we had a picnic down at Pyrmont. We can be very lucky here in Sydney; I can't believe these photos were taken in the middle of Winter. Next time I'm moaning about the weather i have to remind myself that there are cities where the temperature regularly drops below 5* and it snows during winter (I'm not a winter person. If i had my way i would migrate like birds and live in a permanent state of summer).
Opening with some habour shots- just to prove where we really are- Sydney Opera house and Pier 3 (Barangaroo Point/King Street wharves-whatever it's called) where a beautiful big cruise ship was moored-those things are so surreal close up, like giant shiny white floating sky-scrapers.

Saturday Park Rides
Today was probably one of the most gorgeous winter days we've had in Sydney in a long while. And it was especially fine because i spent most of the day on two wheels.
K and I were off to Glebe markets to find $5 gems, and meet a friend, L. We headed to Victoria Park with scrumptious goats cheese and rosemary scones from a new bakery down the road, and tried to convince L that she needed to get a bike. Next stop was Cheeky Transport in Newtown, via Sydney Uni, then back through Glebe to Wentworth Park. We made our way home via Glebe Point waterfront.
It was an action packed day. L had a beautiful old fashioned Diana camera, K had an app on her iphone that gave photos that "Lomo" look, and there were costume changes and lovely scenery along the way. Expect a few more posts from today's photos.

Fur
My new op-shop found $10 fur (no animals were harmed in the making of this fur-my favourite sort). Perfect for these cold winter nights down at the waterfront.
Note about the soundtrack for that night, and not to obsess over Bat for Lashes, but i could not get the songs from "Fur and Gold" out of my head...

When it starts to rain on a ride like this, the only thing to do is to find shelter in a handy park pergola, rake your hair to one side, and practice your 80's "Bold and the Beautiful" stares...

New Kids on the Block
We took Hildegarde and Mercutio down to the park the first night we picked them up to give them a spin. It rained and it was cold, and K and S were still getting use to their bikes, but it was lots of fun down on the waterfront.
